Finding Nemo (2012)

In the colorful and warm tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef, a Clownfish named Marlin lives safe and secluded in a quiet cul-de-sac with his only son, NEMO. Fearful of the ocean and its unpredictable risks, he struggles to protect his son. Nemo, like all young fish, is eager to explore the mysterious reef. When Nemo is unexpectedly taken far from home and thrust into a dentist's office fish tank, Marlin finds himself the unlikely hero on an epic journey to rescue his son. In his quest, Marlin is joined by a good Samaritan named Dory, a Regal Blue Tang fish with the worst short-term memory and biggest heart in the entire ocean. As the two fish continue on their journey, encountering numerous dangers, Dory's optimism continually forces Marlin to find the courage to take risks

and overcome his fears. In doing so, Marlin gains the ability to trust and believe, like Dory, that things will work out in the end.

Confronting seabirds, sewer systems, and even man himself, father and son's fateful separation ends in triumph. And the once-fearful Marlin becomes a true hero in the eyes of his son, and the entire ocean.

The LDr. Seuss - The Lorax (2012)

I just found out the other day that one of my beloved stories from my childhood has been made into a brand new movie – The Lorax.
My husband thinks The Lorax is a very depressing movie. In a way it is. But I like to think that there is hope to be found in the movie too.
If you are unfamiliar with the story, The Lorax is a story by Dr. Seuss. It was published in 1971 and later made into the movie. The story reflects just how much industry effects our environment.
The story goes that a man (the “Once-ler”) arrives in the beautiful forest. He falls in love with the Truffula Trees.

He soon realizes that he can do a lot wit the trees like build with them and use their “tuffs” of fluff on top to knit into sweaters. So he builds a factory and cuts down the Truffula trees to use their fluff to make the sweaters, called a Thneed.

Living in the forest is a creature named the Lorax. The Lorax feels that it’s his place to speak for the creatures of the forest and the trees because they are unable to speak for themselves. He tries to reason with the Once-ler and make his realize he is destroying their home, but he doesn’t care. As time goes on the once happy and healthy creatures of the forest are forced to leave.
In the end the Lorax gives up hope and leaves, but not without leaving the Once-ler a message that simply said “Unless”.
We learn at the end of the story that the Once-ler has one single seed, the only seed left of the Truffula Trees. He gives the seed to a young boy in hopes he can plant it and rebuild the forest.
Yes, I admit it’s a depressing story. But it’s also a story that teaches a lesson – that we must care for the trees, land and all of Earth’s creatures or else we will destroy everything and be left with nothing.

Brave - Disney Pixar Animation Studios ( Releases June 22 , 2012)

Like The Incredibles (directed by Brad Bird), Brave is a Pixar film not directed by the core group of directors at the studio. Brave‘s director is Mark Andrews, who previously directed the short, One Man Band.
Here are the details about Brave‘s storyline that have been released:
“A rugged and mythic Scotland is the setting for Pixar’s action-adventure Brave. The impetuous, tangle-haired Merida, though a daughter of royalty, would prefer to make her mark as a great archer. A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her father’s

kingdom and her mother’s life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic and a dark, ancient curse to set things right. The storytelling wizards of Pixar conjure humor, fantasy and excitement in this rich Highland tale.”

The film stars Reese Witherspoon as Princess Merida and Emma Thompson as her mother, Queen Elinor. Additional voices include Billy Connolly as King Fergus, Tom Hulce as Prince Jeffrey, and Julie Walters as a witch.

This will be Pixar’s first fairytale film. In interviews about the studio’s upcoming projects, Lee Unkrich (director of Toy Story 3) has described Brave as “gritty,” so as is the case with Pixar do not expect a conventional “princess film.”

G.I. Joe 2 Strikes August 2012

Late this afternoon, Paramount officially scheduled G.I. Joe 2 for an August 10, 2012 release. It's the third movie announced for August 2012 so far, and it's set to open a week after The Bourne Legacy and the Total Recall remake.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra opened to $54.7 million on the same August weekend in 2009 on its way to $150.2 million. Add in decent foreign numbers, and its worldwide total exceeded $302 million.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra didn't fare well critically, but its number one opening weekend was the just the beginning of enough box office receipts to ensure a sequel. With Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick hired to write it in January, news has been light on G.I. Joe 2 until producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura talked to MTV to update the status of the movie, revealing that a script has not been delivered yet.

 Plot:
“The G.I. Joe team faces off against Zartan, his accomplices, and the world leaders he has under his influence.”

The movie GI Joe 2 Retaliation is helmed by Jon Chu and the cast indludes Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, RZA, Joseph Mazzello, Elodie Yung, and Walton Goggins. The film will be released in theaters on June 29, 2012.

Wrath of the Titans (2012)

Wrath of the Titans is an upcoming 2012 fantasy film and sequel to the 2010 film, Clash of the Titans. The film stars Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, Édgar Ramírez, Bill Nighy, Toby Kebbell and Rosamund Pike with Jonathan Liebesman directing a screenplay by Dan Mazeau & David Leslie Johnson.

The film is scheduled for a March 30, 2012 release in 3D[2] and IMAX 3D.[3]

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year-old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans led by Kronos: father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus (Liam Neeson), Hades (Ralph Fiennes), and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades and Ares (Édgar Ramírez) make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus's remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon's demigod son Agenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.[
